Some friends are unfamiliar with three-phase asynchronous motors, and various questions will arise during use. Today, Dalan Motor lists three of the most common small questions to answer your questions.

1. Reasons for white smoke coming out of three-phase asynchronous motor

The motor that has not been used for a long time is easy to absorb moisture in the air and get wet. When the motor starts, the starting current is large and the winding heats up. Promote the evaporation of water inside the motor. It becomes white and odorless smoke. This phenomenon indicates that the motor is seriously damp. You should shut down and check the insulation resistance with a megohmmeter. If the insulation resistance is lower than 0.5MΩ, it must be dried before it can be used. Otherwise, it is easy to break the insulation and burn the motor.

Second, under what circumstances will the three-phase asynchronous motor produce overload operation

The motor will generate overload operation under the following conditions:

(1) The starting time of the three-phase asynchronous motor is too long.

[2] The power supply voltage is too low.

(3) Phase loss operation.

(4) Mechanical failure, such as the belt is too tight, the coupling is damaged, and the mechanical equipment is stuck.

(5) The attached machine is a variable-load machine, which often generates overload. Such as cranes, steel rolling mills, pulverizers, sand mills, mixers and various agricultural and sideline products processing machinery, etc. have too much feed and the pump sucks mud or debris.

(6) The wiring of the motor is wrong, for example, the triangle is wrongly connected into a star, and the star is wrongly connected into a triangle.

Three, under what conditions usually three-phase asynchronous motor can be directly started

The direct start of the motor is mostly used in small-capacity three-phase asynchronous motors. The larger-capacity motor can also be started directly when its rated capacity does not exceed 20% to 30% of the rated capacity of the power supply transformer. But these principles are not absolutely unchanged. It should be analyzed according to the specific conditions of the operation site. For example, some large-capacity motors and mechanical loads are connected by clutch-controlled ports in this case. You can separate the clutch before starting the motor. When the motor speed reaches normal, the current will drop to the rated current value. At this time, the clutch will be closed and the load will run together.
